Our “Tally the Vote” party was in full swing as patrons gathered at LINCOLN’s location central to McPherson Square, Thomas Circle and K Street at 1110 Vermont Ave NW to watch the results of the 2012 Presidential Election – and the results of our very own “Cocktail Voter Poll”.

There was lots of high-fiving, some gasps of surprise and squeals of delight from the crowd as we watched the returns come in on several flat screen TVs brought in especially for the occasion.

Proprietor Alan Popovsky and Executive Chef Demetrio Zavala outdid themselves with our “Tally the Vote” party, keeping food, drink and fun flowing to a packed house. In the throes of design work for our new restaurant Teddy and the Bully Bar, designer Maggie O’Neill sported a TEDDY tee. Our newest presidential restaurant will open its doors in early 2013 at 1200 19th Street, NW. We don’t want to give too much away, but get ready for O’Neill’s gorgeous birch “forest” diorama designed to invoke Roosevelt’s love of the outdoors and his National Parks legacy, faux taxidermy wall and a beautiful antique stove restored in Rhode Island — all in the works now.

Even Elmo made a surprise appearance at our party. The fur might be red, but we’re guessing he voted blue.

The flags were waving, and the Moscow Mules were flowing. Premium Teddy and the Bully Bar coffee was on tap for all those who wanted to stay up until results were final. (Did you know Teddy ritually drank a gallon of coffee a day? One caffeinated guy!)

… and without further ado, the cocktails have spoken!! Our Election Cocktail Tally matched the Presidential election outcome. The results: The Donkey – 218 and The Elephant – 208, with one vote for “Neither”. (If you’re still undecided, pick up one of the RE-ELECT LINCOLN t-shirts in our Store).
