The 2016 Miss America Pageant contestants traveled to Washington DC over the weekend for orientation, and we had the pleasure of welcoming Miss Iowa, Kelly Koch, for Dinner!
Kelly wrote on her official Facebook page: “Had an amazing dinner at a restaurant with a floor made of pennies and a big chair like Honest Abe’s! 😊🇺🇸
#MissAmerica #WashingtonDC” and dined on our specials for that evening. In addition to talent and interview answers, Miss America contestants must be in great physical shape, so our healthy and local dishes are a great option!
Miss Iowa, 20, is from Waukee, Iowa, and is a Junior at Iowa State University. She is studing Child,Adult, and Family Services and hopes to obtain her Master’s Degree in Child Life. The platform she is promoting is the Pinky Swear Foundation, which helps kids with cancer and their families with financial and emotional support.
The Miss America Pageant will be held on Friday, September 11 on ABC. Go Kelly, and thanks for choosing Lincoln! We hope our penny floor gives you lots of luck!
